Kmoney Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 I just got my board and it is from china, is there any difference between the two? Are the boards from china not as good as the ones?
RGone Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 ...No no real difference supposedly and the rumors can fly. Rumors are what people make up when they have problems to an extent. I have followed the NF2 boards for nearly 2 years now and they all go thru cycles. What makes the cycles? Nvidia the chipset builder is likely the key in that dog and pony show. Any component on a mobo that is made from silicon is subject to ups and downs from board to board; as is the same with cpu's and memory. Should it be? Not so sure I know the answer to that. Is it up and down? Yes it appears so sometimes from where I sit. I have a good friend who knows what he is doing around a computer. To top that off he is an Electrical Engineer and has told me more about what to expect from a certain set of specifications than you will imagine any time soon. Point being, he ordered 2 sticks of the CH-5 Buffalo from NewEgg out of the ones that memory man said were so good here lately. The first two sticks were iffy for speed. So he orders 2 'more' sticks out of the same supposed batch. Guess what? The second two sticks of memory do not 'act' anywhere like the first two sitcks and now he has tested all 4 sticks separately and none of the 4 are 'real' close in speed to each other. Moral of story? You tell me. The real story is to know that each motherboard is a 'story' all its' own and must be treated as such. I do and make do quite well as do many others. Sincerely, RGone...
Kmoney Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 Thank you for clearing that up, I did some research and found out they are just as good. Thank you!

Surnom Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 My China works quite good, last 2-3 bioses gave me CPC stability above 230fsb. Now running 251x10.5 not 100% stable (Prime fails after an hour) but I play games for hours without any crashes. Anyway, all that to say I love my China

Then again... probably just board to board quirks
SAE Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 All my China boards (66% of all my former DFI Inf/LP B) were about 10 to 40% worse than the TW counterparts. So go figure. I don't think I just got unlucky this often, as I am always using the same HW with them, same bioses, settings, mods... no two boards act equal, but IMHO China boards often have severe quality problems. I know what I am talking 'bout (also the China boards didn't like most bios revisions, hello Robert *wink* )
Angry_Games Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 the boards from China are the same as from Taiwan. This is a rumor that customers began over in another forum and that is all it is...a rumor. Rumors are rarely true, and in this case, absolutely untrue (my LPB is china made and does 250x9+ easily and has never had a single issue). I dont like rumor mills and will close this thread. Its not a crackdown on your freespeech, its a simple, truthful statement: the china vs taiwan thing is a rumor, and a false one at that.
