Got warped socket fixed, will it effect my OC?

Recommended Posts

My LAN PArty Ultra "B" has just had its socket resoldered due to having

a warped socket. The tech at DFI got it fixed and is sending it to me as we speak. My question is, since it has been resoldered, is there a chance that its going to limit my ability to overclock?

Shouldn't have any affect at all since the socket itself doesn't contain any circuitry. Only problem I think you could run into would be if the socket wasn't soldered back on correctly, but I don't think that will be an issue.

well, my socket is warped ... CPU does 2.4GHz easy can go to 2.5GHz (maybe even 2.6GHz) ...

I offered AG 10USD+shipping both ways to fix it, haven't heard from him yet :) (30USD is too much IMO)
