875P Infinity BIOS for Prescott?

Recommended Posts

Greetings all!

I still have my 875P Infinity (yes the original brown PCB) that I got from A_G himself...great running board, but I can't seem to locate any BIOS for the Prescott CPUS.

Any Idea when one will be available? (one that doesn't FUBAR the board like the first Prescott BIOS did, which was later pulled from the download page)

I'd like to upgrade to a 3.0 Prescott, but not if this board doesn't support it.

unfortunately, it doesnt look like the original 875P Infinity is going to support a Prescott cpu:

Dear All,

We had posted Beta BIOS dated 2004/03/02 with file name “875P4302.zip” at URL http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/BIOS/875P4302.zip on Beta Site for 875P infinity. Under Policy, we don’t officially support it. This BIOS had been updated the micro code for Prescott CPU supporting 2.8G FSB533 and 3.0G FSB800. We also requested customer watching out the cooler and ventilation in chassis. We also suggest adding heatsink on MOSFET Components.

I will however ask HH to confirm this. I do know that the latest revision of 875P Inf (red pcb) does support prescott cpu as its all over the box, and has sinks mounted over all the mosfets. Give me a day or so to get an answer ;)

Travis,

875P Infinity was phased out in August when 875 Infinity launched. Please request user download BIOS dated 2004/06/23 from Beta Site. The file name “875IN623.zip” is exactly for 875P Infinity. I will update the file name to prevent from misunderstanding. The CPU support is the same as that of 03/15/2004, while we also solved the size detection bug on some certain 160G and 250G SATA. We will check whether R&D will place this version through ECR procedure. Before being approved by QA and DVT, we can only test it and post it on beta site.

Best,

HH
