Booster Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 Yep, after 11 years my pos 32" tv decided to stop working and stink up my room with that nasty probably dangerous smell *I was smart to tell my siblings to leave the room and take out the birds and put some fans to air out the room*. Anyways I'm looking for a new TV now, trying to not pay no more than lets say $900, but cheaper the better seeing my parents are paying for this and I still do want a new computer for christmas. I've been looking and right now I'm not intrested in HDTV *no cable either  * or widescreen, also hoping for one with the same screen size. The ones I've seen and liked through the online selection are: Sony 32" FD or Sony 32" FD with picture in picture If only my parents wouldn't mind paying another $100 bucks, but then again I don't have cable so its kinda pointless, but we may get cable later on. I also mentioned to my mom about getting a tuner for the comp, if I can get a good priced TV she might get me a tuner for the comp also. :shake: Thanks guys

Angry_Games Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 ya but there will be analog - to - digital converters cuz theres only a small minority that owns a digital or hd set...but like any tech, the more that its mandated, the more that ppl will purchase it, and the prices will fall, making more people take advantage of it examples: color tv's (until there was color broadcasting, no one would spend the $$$ for a color set) vcr (they were $1500 when i was a kid, then two years later, they were $500...then $200...now $49) cd-rom players (we kept buying albums and cassettes cuz cd drives were $500 and cd's were $20...hey wait!!! cd's are still $20!!!!) dvd burners ($5,000....now i just bought an NEC 2500A 8x -r/+r/-rw/+rw for $80)
