HUH Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 are there pots in the Enermax 350W that allows for +12V rail adjustments? don't wanna open it up and void the warranty finding out there's no pots to adjust
Angry_Games Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 heh dont know this one but put your specs in your sig as per the sticky Important Info in the AMD - Motherboards section!
Rockindaveuk Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 No there is no pots to adjust. Ive had the same problems but with all the rails with my Enermax 350w. Tried modding the rails which helped slightly, but to be fair, its only a 350w supply. I switched to this 550w and the difference is massive. At max O/C includin running a 232w TEC on the 12v, there is no fluctuation in voltage. I think sometimes the PSU is often overlooked when trying to build a super fast system and IMO its the most important
elts_drac Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 Well I wouldn't say its the MOSY important but its one of the big 4 factors 1.mobo/chipset 2.CPU 3.Memory 4.PSU a weak links of any of these factors will tank yer OC... HUH Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 i have my antec 380W that came w/ the sonata originally....but after finding that the +3.3V rail was fluctuating between 3.21V~3.27V, i switched to this psu and now it is 3.3~3.34V!!! they r both from WHM... also i used a DMM to get readings directly from molex and aux....antec was rite on w/ 3.34V and so did the enermax w/ 3.34V also......so i switched to my enermax.... under load (prime95 w/ priority 8) the rails/voltages r good and rite on.....excep the +12V is 11.7V.....so i wanna raise it a bit.... AdvModDev Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 I have a True480 which uses sense lines for all 3 rails. If your Enermax is the same, then the mod should be similiar. Cut the 12V sense line and solder a 68ohm FR and 10K VR to it. Take a look at this guide: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=726156
