Custompccases Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Hello everyone! I have a lanparty-B here that keeps giving me a “error loading operating system” message when it tries to boot. I can boot from the cdrom (since I am doing a clean install) and format the drive etc. but once it reboots to get into the GUI it gives me that right after verifying the DMI pool. This system has 2 hd's so I have unplugged the slave and changed the jumpers on the master (seagate) to master and CS without any improvement. I have disabled the floppy and onboard SATA just in case it was trying to boot from those. I already own a ultra infinity and have had 0 issues with it, which is rare for any motherboard. Not even the smallest conceivable inconvenience ever. Being so blown away with it I talked my friend into purchasing this LP board so I feel bad that it is having issues. His system specs: 430 watt antec XP1700+ 40gig Seagate barracuda Leadtek Ti 4400 Creative audigy 2 I don’t see how anything other than the HD or mobo would be causing the problem so not sure if the specs are worth anything. I am trying to install xp pro. Let me know if you need any more info, I would be happy to get it for you. Thank you for your time! mnkyboy Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Sorry to step on toes but I had the same issue first time I got mine - Press enter on your HDD's in the BIOS settings and set the mode to LBA - usually sets them to CHS
elts_drac Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 well is it still trying to load from the cd instead of the HD? What are you using for the device sequence at bootup?

You have NO idea how happy I am now. I was really getting upset that something I recommended wasn't working out. Right now it is at the GUI continuing to install windows. I hope that's all the issues I encounter. Thanks to Both of you for helping. Very fast responses as well.

Custompccases Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 I read the sticky but wasn't sure it was appropriate since it wasn't my computer, but I will add my own right now. Sorry about that.
