Muninn Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Hey guys, just a query. What do you think the best watercooling manufacuror is and what kindof case do you think supports watercooling the best. Uhm...just a question, i'm thinking of puting it in my pc-70 but i'm not sure i wan't to, i've herd a lot of horror stories from friends about that one guy, who's CPU block started leaking and all of a sudden there was smoke comeing out of the case and.....you get the picture. Anyways Why would watercooling be more of an advantage that just Convection cooling, (Air, i think that was correct terminology) Just post back, gimme your 2 cents, i wanna hear whatcha all think Muninn
mxrider623 Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Danger Den makes the best watercooling stuff and the best case would be the Chieftec aluminium since they are light and have a lot of room. You will only have chance of ruining your system if you are a moron and dont run your setup outside the case to test for any leaks. You could probably cool a system with air cooling and it would be about as cool as a watercooled one but the noise would be unbearable. with watercooling you only have a couple fans and a pump and if you put the fans on a fan controller you can keep it almost silent. Muninn Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Alright guys, Explain something to me here I'm not really a noob, But when it comes to watercooling, i just havent gone there yet. Why is dangerDen better? Is there any real reason or is it just personal preference? I understand that cooling accesories can be superior to others i'm just wondering why dangerden is so much more....uhm......well.....better than its competitors? and if so is it worth the $$$ because i have herd its mucho pricey Thx for the posts muninn
mxrider623 Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 their waterblocks are solid copper and have a very good design and they use really good radiators. and their systems are actually not too expensive they have good kits for around $180 which isnt bad at all. Muninn Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 I'll look into it, Do they have distributors or are they purely based on the web?
mxrider623 Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 here is a list of all their distributors but I think all of them are online stores anyways. http://www.dangerden.com/base_pages/Distributors.htm
Johnny Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 www.wetandchillychips.com these guys do a couple of good rigs (despite the crap website!) you can see a full review at viperlair BTW they changed the supplied fan to a quieter 120mm Evercool Fan (76cfm air flow-30db) I've just ordered one (double radiator rig) and will let you know how I got on! FM53 Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 Well guys, I just got my KOOLANCE up and running and so far I am impressed with the results. No matter how hard I work it, it has always stayed at 32c or cooler. It wasn't a difficult setup and it was reasonbly priced for $229.00 already integrated into a Chieftech case. I am going to try and do some pics here real soon to show you this true red case mod. (10 LED Lasers) I know that there are better cooling systems available, but so far I am happy with this rig.
