177.35 "hacked" Driver With Patched Inf (for Xp/vista)

Recommended Posts

I installed the nrg drivers and tried to use the client on my Vista x64, but it didn't work. It's a bummer because so many of you said that it worked on an x64 box for you. I get an error in the log that I have an unstable machine but it isn't even overclocked. What did you guys do to get it to work?

Yeah I have been getting the same error. It is getting kinda annoying.

At first things had worked for me, but last night sometime they decided to break :(

Ok, this card is a monnnnster...

At the rate I'm going (with these drivers), I'm pulling in 5529 PPD

I'm just about to install the new nvidia CUDA enabled drivers and see how they do... (from here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/forcewithin/us/download.asp)

(FYI: 725 Core / 1812 Shader / 975 Memory & 59C full load :D)

EDIT: Link fixed.

Ok. I'm running 177.83, straight from nvidia. PPD looks to be exactly the same as with the hacked 177.35 (but with nvidia support - more or less)

Requirements:

In order to enable GPU PhysX or CUDA acceleration, a GeForce 8-series or later GPU is required. Also required is a graphics driver which supports both PhysX and CUDA. GeForce v177.83 graphics driver supports PhysX and CUDA on the following desktop GPUs:

GeForce GTX 280

GeForce GTX 260

GeForce 9800 GX2

GeForce 9800 GTX+

GeForce 9800 GTX

GeForce 9800 GT

GeForce 9600 GT

GeForce 9600 GSO

GeForce 9500 GT

GeForce 9500 GS

GeForce 9400 GT

GeForce 9300 GS

GeForce 9300 GE

GeForce 8800 Ultra

GeForce 8800 GTX

GeForce 8800 GTS 512

GeForce 8800 GTS

GeForce 8800 GT

GeForce 8800 GS

GeForce 8600 GTS

GeForce 8600 GT

GeForce 8600 GS

GeForce 8500 GT

GeForce 8400 SE

GeForce 8400 GS

GeForce 8400

GeForce 8300 GS

GeForce 8300

GeForce 8200

GeForce 8100 / nForce 720a

GeForce 8100 / nForce 720a

The link I posted above has downloads for XP (32 bit and 64 bit), as well as Vista (32 bit and 64 bit). I'm running 32 bit XP at the moment. You have to use some silly Java app to download it, however, it does go pretty quick, and I've gotten it installed without a hitch.

It said before that it specifically was not supported by Vista 64-bit. I'll check again now.

Hmm...I just started the download for the 64-bit Vista drivers. It seems ok, so far...although...the filename is exactly the same as the 32-bit XP version that I downloaded a couple of hours ago. Ok, nevermind. I think their download manager was just very confused. Just finished downloading "177.83_geforce_winvista_64bit_international_whql". Wow that's fast.

Hope all goes well. :thumbs-up:

ACE! PhysX support on 8 series finally... once I've moved house and set my main rig back up, I can see what the deal is on the UT3 PhysX maps and see what other games I already have that use it :)
