hardnrg Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I'm getting almost 5000 PPD with the 177.35 drivers... they only normally install on the new GTX 280 and 260 cards, but I modified the drivers using tips on the net and repackaged it, and uploaded it Download the 177.35 drivers for MASSIVE PPD gain! iKillSteal Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Simply amazing, Hardnrg. I'm wondering if there's a PPD projecting bug with the current version of the GPU2 client and FAHMON. I'm waiting for Razor to get back to me but our projected numbers ended up the same, though his box is obviously superior. If anybody else is running FAHMON, would you please post which nVidia driver and FAHMON versions you are using. Thanks again, Folks. hardnrg Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 well it takes me like 30 mins to complete a 98 point WU... multiply that by 48 and you get about 4800 PPD... so 4980 is probably about right
iKillSteal Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I see...well doing the basic math that you did I'm getting around 3136 PPD(~40min per WU) and I just checked FAHMON again and my projected crept up to 2986 PPD so I'm guessing it was just being a bit slow there. Thanks for the input, Hardnrg. I can sleep peacefully tonight and give your 177.35 drivers a go in the morning.
kingdingeling Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Holy crap, where's my G80/G92 card???!!!
hardnrg Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Right now I'm running GPU2 on one core and then 2x Linux SMP spread over the remaining 3 cores... I think I'm going to get about 8.5-9k PPD... so about double my 2x Linux SMP PPD...

hardnrg Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I dunno... look at razor's PPD on a similar machine using older drivers: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.p...st&p=793615
Onion Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 YES! Broke 5000 ppd mark with my single 8800 gts g92!
Bizzlenitch Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I can second hardnrg's comments. I was using the 175.16 drivers and pulling down about 3500PPD. Switched to the 177.35 drivers and now I'm pulling in about 4500PPD. There was definately a good jump in points switching to the 177 drivers, so if you're on the fence and want more points, DO IT!!!
