Great_Gig Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 ASUS P5Q-E P45 Motherboard Been looking at the new ASUS P5Q-E P45 motherboard as opposed to buying a GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS4. There is only a $10 difference in price and I wondered if anyone has tried this board yet, or has any knowledge? I actually have the GA board on order, but am thinking of canceling for the Asus board...... any comments guys? There are only a couple of reviews out there, but so far they seem positive and say it's a great OC'ing board, that rivals an X38 and X48. But I normally like to read/hear more than a few comments. GG EDIT: Quotes from Futuremark & CPU3D Futuremark:"ASUS is going to have to be careful, if its mainstream motherboards are this excellent, there is going to be little incentive to buy their higher-end models. In all honesty though, I can
road-runner Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I have not seen anything on the Asus P45 yet, however if it overclocks anything like the EP45 DQ6 I think I would go with P45...
erico Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) I just bought mine on wednesday. Easy setup, lots of SATA ports. Easy to overclock. For now I have my C2D E4300 running @2.7 GHZ.. This MOBO stays quite cool @ 32 Deg C and CPU cores @21C on a mild overclock (47%). The stack2 seems to work quite well. I will let you know how it goes when I start playing really around with it.
