exeter_acres Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 OK...I'll try and describe this as well as I can..... I use Outlook 2003... (if someone posts something to the effect of......nah nah nah... use "this" software... I'll ban your arse! ) when I create a new email...and click on the "To" button I get an error that says "the address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened. yada yada yada" I click OK to get rid of that message and the address window is there.... I then click on the drop down menu at the top that says: "Show names from the:" and Contacts is listed twice.... one of them is empty and if I click on it, I get the error above.... the second one lists all of my contacts just fine.... any ideas on how to get rid of the first "ghost" contacts list? Thanks Exeter
swifty11212 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 outlook and it's mac counter part entourage are very good imo, and yea, nubs use thunderbird If you have another computer laying around, can you try exporting your contacts to a file and then on the other computer, import it to see if the ghosting effect replicates. I'm trying to think what it could be.
hardnrg Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Outlook > Tools > Address Book Address Book > Tools > Options Remove (the right) one, or maybe safer to just point Outlook to use the right one first...

Say what you will about MS, but Outlook rocks. Hell, I'm pretty satisfied with the Office Suite in general. Well, except for PowerPoint, because it's TOO noob-friendly and often results in crappy presentations when not done by professionals
