damian Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 so what would make me enjoy my games more. I currently have no speakers, onboard sound, and some cheap plantronic gamecom headsets with a busted left earphone so what would be a better upgrade to enjoy my FPS games Logitech Z5500 speakers Azuntech X-Fi prelude sound card Undecided 5.1 headset If you vote for the headset which should i go for? Comp Dude2 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 If your room is a suitable shape + layout for 5.1 speakers then i would go with the Z5500's otherwise just get some nice headphones
WhenKittensATK Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 (edited) If you live alone go with speakers, if not get headphones. I don't use my speakers anymore since I have to have them up high to actually hear small noises. So I just use cheap JVC Marshmallow headphones. My speakers are cheap logitech 5.1 X-530. LivingGhost Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 I didn't like my Z-5500's. I would say, go with a Sennheiser HD280Pro.
damian Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 I saw the 280pros but i wanted a MIC for online gaming, turns out I'll be receiving money so I'll just buy the PC151's along with the Z5500's
hardnrg Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 I didn't really like my HD280Pro connected directly to Realtek onboard audio... with flat EQ they sounded pretty lame (HD280Pro has a massive bass rolloff that starts pretty high), and adjusting the Realtek EQ much at all results in distortion... so if you don't have a PC->amp->HD280Pro set-up, I'd go with something else... the PC151 you're considering sound pretty good, even with flat EQ from Realtek... For the cheap-but-decent I'd probably say check out the HD212Pro if you can listen to it in-store anywhere... edit: lol, too slow... Zalman do a decent clip on mic that doesn't cost the earth... you can clip it on the headphone cord and it has several mini clips to clip it along the cord too...
