Overclocking Help

I have an intel e6420 cpu, abit fatal1ty fp-1n9 sli motherboard, 2 gigs of ram, nvidia geforce 7900 gt/gto card, stock fan. Could someone help me figure out what i should do. Thanks.

...and don't forget to use a quality power supply. OCZ, Corsair, etc., somewhere in the region of 500W should suffice.

The OC guide reference is great.

 

Here is a down and dirty little guide for quick OC of a 965 Gigabyte board. I know different board but a lot of the settings and advice is quite common and helps make sense of the Bios Settings. Your bios may be different in some aspects. It's tough when you are starting out to make sense of it all and looking at it from different angles helps.

As you over clock your system draws more power (thats the reason for making sure you have a ps that will support oc) also, some cheaper PS will have signal noise on the voltage lines that could interfear with a decent oc... and replacing the stock fan is very important before you even start (stock one is the minimum requirment for stock speeds).. Heat kill's, even the case your system is in makes a difference (cooling the rest of the components)..
