Ricky C Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Just got my console back from ms (4th console) and tried to play games on it, but after 10 mins it says my disks are dirty. I have had to schedule another repair, but am getting rather fed up :angry2:. Is their anyway i can get a 60nm insted of the crappy 90nm which just break all the time. capthowdy575 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 v3 are 60nm i dont really think there is a way to get them unless you go buy a brand new console from the store. sorry about your luck iv sent mine in like 7 times its sucks but what are you going to do about it. lol i really would like to get a ps3
WhenKittensATK Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 If thats case Capthowdy575, I got the opportunity for you to switch over to PS3 here : http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=81019 I bought my 360 when Halo 3 came out, I played on it for quite a few hours. My brother did manage to get a RSOD with it, but only because the power cable wasn't plugged in all the way. Other than that its been running smooth. suchuwato Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Hmm.... I beg to differ - PS2 for most unreliable I'd evaluate your placement though if this is No. 4. Either that or you're really unlucky...
slugbug Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 (edited) Including the one I just sent in, this will be 4 for me too. When I suggested they give me a new one they proceeded to give me the runaround. The funniest thing happened the other day though. Their automated phone system didn't give me an option to speak to an agent so I said "operator". A moment later a sexy voice on the other end says: "Hi baby, want to talk to a hot sexy single woman?" They transferred me to a phone s3x line I called them back and complained to a supervisor. I told him to send me a new console and I'd forget it. They offered me a free wireless controller....bunch of wankers! Hey wait a minute, I'm the one that got connected to a phone s3x line, so I must be the wanker Edited June 10, 2008 by slugbug

LoArmistead Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I've had two. The first I sold in excellent condition and the second still runs like a charm.
slugbug Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) I've heard of people going through 10 or more. I just got the replacement today and the manufacture date is 2006-09-09. I give it a month or two before it goes belly up like the others. One of my unscrupulous friends suggested I buy a new one, swap it and return it for a full refund. I guess that's one way to mess with MS Edited June 11, 2008 by slugbug
ir_cow Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 the dirty disc is the dvd drive not the console. those samsung drives caused the most problems for me so what i did was got a BenQ on ebay and switch them out + fixed the RROD issue. so getting a 65nm 360 won't fix your issue but your more likely to have a BenQ drive which is almost dead silent . You could always take all that money towards your 360 and upgrade your PC
Fogel Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I dont recommend you do this. I know wal-mart (yes walmart out of all the places ) checks to make sure the serial number matches the receipt! You could always take all that money towards your 360 and upgrade your PC LOL are you serious? Wallymart??!??!? I remember when I was snot nosed brat (don't even think I hit the double digits in age) and my friend and I traded in our NES and all our games into a local game store to get a Genesis so we could have the Mortal Kombat with blood. Well, not being satisfied with either the lame rip off of MK or the system itself, we walked I think 3 miles (when you're a kid you are poor, dedicated and got way more time than you need) to the local Wal-Mart. Sweat drenched and probably red in face from the heat we told the sales rep there we wanted a SNES instead of the Genesis. Freaking Wal-Mart had the big puffy scan stickers no one else had so we were sure we would fail, I mean we could see our big pit fall even outside of not even having receipts. I mean they litterally had to scan those big puffy stickers, and the SNES we were trying to get had them and the Genesis boxes did not... <_< ...but they took 'em! I don't even think we told them we told we bought the Genesises there, I think we just walked in and said we would like to exchange our Genesis for an SNES. It was painfully easy. Friend and I walked home that day with SNESes in our hands. Long time ago and not something I'd do today but did give me a laugh reading this.
