Which Is Better

Recommended Posts

I am going to buy a 24inch monitor and I am not sure which one to buy:

Acer P243W :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824113012

or

Gateway FHD240 :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009125

or

HP w2408h :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176090

Which one is better for gaming and movies or are there better ones than those for around the same price range

I am getting 2x8800gt's in sli though so which is the best monitor to go with those gfx Cards

P.S An amazing deal on 8800gt's :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134035

I have seen the HP screen in a 22" version and it looks awesome! The reflective coating is quite reflective tho.

I was looking at all three of those, a couple weeks ago, when I was getting ready to make my purchase - but then I noticed this -

Did a bunch of research on the brand, and that particular model, and was pretty impressed. At the time, it was $499 - with free shipping. I went for it - and am extremely happy. The only issues were that it was set to 100% brightness & contrast, out of the box. I currently have mine at 35% brightness, and 55% contrast - and it looks fantastic. Didn't need to tweak the colors or anything else. Used a WS fix for BF2 - awesome. COD4 looks great, as well. Like I said, the price was $499 a couple of weeks ago, and if you read the reviews, it seems to drop to that price every few weeks. If you can wait, I would give it strong consideration :) If not, then I don't think you can lose with any of those 3 choices - especially the price on the Acer. Not sure what your system specs are, but I can still max out COD4 at 1920 res - and still pull around 50 fps, with a single 8800GTX. Your idea on SLI 8800GTs will be perfect. I have one, and am waiting for the game that busts the 8800GTX, at that res - then I'll do an SLI rebuild, myself.

Good luck.

ASUS MK241H - 24"

I don't have one myself, but I have seen one when I was recently choosing a 24". I went for the DELL, but it was a close call. I mostly do design work with a bit of gaming, so colour accuracy was most important. However, for gaming the ASUS is great, very rich and vivid colours and great for movies too. I little more expensive, but I reckon a good monitor is something that pays dividends - after all that's what you will be looking at all the time!

There are a lot of positive reviews on the web too if you are interested.
