Warby35 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Hey, I've got a Powercolor HD3870, the one with the factory HSF and its pretty noisy, I was wondering if there is any way to lower the fan speed with software or a mod. I have quallity fans in my case and they seem to be a waste of money because its still all noise over here Warby

Warby35 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) You can try ATI Tray Tools. When I use this software, after clicking overclocking then fan, I get the message no supported hardware found and pete the cooler on the powercolor hd3870 is of aftermarket quallitly / full copper heatsink and fan, the problem is the fan is always at 100% i think unplugging the fan for less demanding tasks is the only way till 4870 time P.S. I have just moved the tower from underneath the desk to on top (ventalation) so its right next to my ear and therfore LOUDER!
