Go Red Wings!!

One more game then Lord Stanley's Cup is all theirs!!

I've been a Red Wings fans since the day Steve Yzerman was drafted. Was fortunate enough to intern with the Detroit Mayors office back in '94 and was told I could have all the Red Wings tickets I wanted that fall (since no one else wanted them). Yes, that fall was the lockout shortened season.

Now 14 years later they stand the the threshhold of their 4th Cup in 11 years (if Konstantinov hadn't been injured back in '97 Detroit would have been looking at an Edmonton Oilers type of dynasty over the last 11 years that the Oilers enjoyed during the mid and late 80's).

Our thread kind of died down after all our enthusiasts' picks fell out

As you can see, my pick is looking pretty good. Of course, that might mean something if I even claimed to have a clue what I was talking about :) It's always nice to see a local team doing that well though!

I'm a BIG Devils fan. Season ticket holder, yada yada yada. I thought Pittsburgh but at least had a chance, but I have to give it to the Wings. They are totally dominating. One of the best teams in recent years IMO.

You'll see me post a lot about hockey next season. :)

When the Red Wings lost to the Devils back in '96 I was visiting my brother in Philadelphia. The morning after the Devils swept the Red Wings I was out with my Red Wings hat on - took a lot of crap that morning, but they seemed to respect the fact I wasn't a fair-weather fan.

No offense, but I don't believe a word of that. "Philadelphia" and "respect"??? Yeah, right.

Anywho, I'm diehard NYR, so couple that with that fact that I think Crosby is an overrated crybaby (Malkin is by far the best on that team), I've been rooting for the Wings, and said all along that the Pens would only pull out one game in the series; that game has come and gone.

Holy entertainment Batman.

That was a long, absolutly insane game.

I've been hoping for the Pens, but it doesn't look good and I admit it.

It seems me and Clay don't get along too much with hockey... lol

Yeah, that game last night was freaking insane. Let me just say for the record I love the rule change for no commercial breaks in OT. Non-stop action FTW!

Like I said, I'm rooting for Detroit, but I'm okay with the Pens winning last night. It's better for the sport the longer this series goes, especially with games like last night. Whoever watched last night can't tell me hockey's not the most exciting sport in the world.

It's not the most exciting sport in the world, in fact I would rather get a root canal performed through my nose than watch hockey :P

Then you didn't watch last night's game, and thus your opinion means squat :P;)
