Guest KrankyOldLady Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Comming from the street im happy the way we where welcomed. And as it is all over the net these days, peeps got other worry's then: "omg i have to have the most l33t, uber whatever in my system, cause so and so has one... People seem to forget that. Now with the merger, we hoped as far as i know, problems like this on both sides would be gonne, atleast as gonne as possible. And you know what? As far as i know, it did... So instead of always looking back, i'd say be glad you here, since your free to go if you want obviously, and lets work as one community again , together to make this the most kickass forum ever. just my 2 cents
Silverfox Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 ...You guys are talking as if DFI-Street was an offical partner of OCC or something. Yeah I've been here a long time too - yeah DFI street was helpful... But this stuff happens - forums die. Honestly, this forum isnt as active as it once was. I think its due to the "stricter" rules we have here to make this place friendly for 11 years and their overclocking moms. I've almost completely stopped posting here several times because of that. The overclocking and ethusiest community has its own persona and culture - One that OCC just doesn't cater too anymore - and Neither did DFI-Street. This is why places like XS and so forth are getting such huge member counts now. Well DIY Street is essentially an official partner of OCC now as far as I'm concerned. And you know what? Not ONE of them has taken such a negative attitude as your post seems to insinuate. I can only commend the DIY-ers for their flexibility, willingness and patience to come over to us at OCC. They all contribute thoroughly and I hope they stay for the long haul. Some people just don't like change - I'm going to assume that you and KB are some of those folk. P8, have you ever stopped to use a modicum of sense? It's not all about the member count (what is it with Internet nerds and 'members'?). OCC does more than just form an online forum to discuss things. It's about the news, reviews AND the forums. To be honest, I think OCC has one of the most well-rounded communities since Raven left and changes were drafted in. The reported figures seem to agree with that too. We all know what people think of the rules, but that's just tough titties. If you feel the need to swear, talk about illegal activities and post p
Kamikaze_Badger Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 To be honest, I think OCC has one of the most well-rounded communities since Raven left and changes were drafted in. The reported figures seem to agree with that too. I'll have to agree with that too. My point was situated more in the past. My appologies. Krazy: Viewing things in ultimates doesn't get far in life. One can be happy to have something, but still have a grievance or two. Expressing grievances in a proper way can generally get things looked at or improved if they're logical grievances. For example, being given a warn raise for linking to something that had the s word in it once being excessive, though it wasn't untill Kash linked to a Cracked.com list that the rule started to lessen up. Whether this was intentional or not, we all thank Kash . Nothing is perfect. There are those that will complain about everything, and those that won't complain about a single thing, instead looking at it through rose colored glasses. Doing either gets nowhere. Looking at and appreciating what's there and also taking note of what's lacking is how improvement is made.

Andrewr05 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I'm gonna go ahead and assume that YES he was referring to your post and that he was implicating that he was of the "those that won't complain about a single thing, instead looking at it through rose colored glasses" crowd... Syngensmyth Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 (edited) Me complain? Perish the thought. I do however have a list of 100 suggestions. Not really, just gettin' used to stuff. Hey we had an out house when I was a kid (just a bit chilly in ND winter). Life's been pretty much up from there. damian Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Click on your name and select Find Member's Topics/Posts. That should give you a list of all of your posts. And now im in love Though it is a little hard to get used to the OCC back in GS there was about 50 threads a day, but that was a self flaw itself, as it became really repetitive. I cat complain everything here is amazing, hope to stay here for a while.

Trust me, we had that phase, and I wouldn't be surprised if it came around again once the major manufacturers, Intel, AMD, and nVidia, start competing again like they used to a couple years ago.
