Watercooling Information & Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Is it safe to use a (distilled) water? because i thought the water evaporate once it touch a heat source?

and can you give a picture of a reservoir with silver coil please?

PS: I don't what it is :dunno:

You should ONLY use distilled water, if you are not buying some overpriced unnecessary coolant that won't lower your temps at all! The only benefit that some of those coolants have like the fesser one is the fact that they do not conduct! If you read anywhere that says a certain coolant will lower your temps vs distilled water, from all of the research I have done, it is purely a gimmick! Distilled water and a biocide is all that you need!

Here is a link to the silver coil

Distilled water is also non conductive, only benefit is non corrosive additives in those premixes if you are going to be mixing copper with aluminum which causes electrolysis and corrodes up.

I was wondering what sort of coolant I'd need to put in my loop if I'd wish to put my rad under sub zero temps

A mineral oil type of compound IMO. Otherwise, use regular distilled water with a mix of anti freeze. Considering you're water won't freeze unless you have some huge radiator.

If i'm going to use a WC setup, what kind of loop should i choose (i don't want to use 2 radiators, i choose 240mm radiator)?

Hey all, I need some help!

I lost my bookmarks (don't ask).

In some forum I had a bookmark of 1/4 inch copper pipe 90 degree bends. They had negligible effect on flow rate.

I was wondering if anybody reading this thread can tell me where that discussion was ........... Please.

Hi Guys,

I have recently discovered a new way of cooling my system! :D I'm running quadfire 6990s which can get pretty toasty, even in my igloo which is well within the Arctic circle for maximum atmospheric cooling! I'm getting regular overheating crashes now :/ So I decided to attempt "Immersion Water Cooling". It has now reduced my temps significantly!!! I really recommend, here's a blue print for my idea http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ERGrznxTIwo/RkyULVJn92I/AAAAAAAACzg/wDL1r2pekHY/s320/bucket+of+water.jpg

Regards,

Ronald

Lately I've been buying some of my stuff here: http://www.koolertek.com/ All of my orders are shipped and delivered promptly. I've got no complaints so far. I got my pa140.3 from them. And 20# of my YL 88's. (@$3.95 each good price!) And 10# g3/8 barbs when some of the others had oversold. You might add them to the list. (If you like..)

Do you think that'll work for this? http://englishrussia.com/images/wooden_pc_mod/1.jpg its a tad old but the temperatures that it reaches are sure to burn some of the exterior.

gracias,

Raul
