Ben, with the price difference of 20$, I'd say go for the Silencer 750W! 150$ for such a good PSU is a great price IMO!

 

How is $150 compared to $110 ($90 if you include rebate) a $20 difference?

Also, I was just giving options. I don't want to flat out tell people to buy one thing or another (unless they don't know at all what they are doing :lol: )

you're going to need 4-8gbs of ram for after-effects and a raid as a scratch-disk this is speed things up so very much when you start getting into bigger files.

 

 

workstation cards can be used to do previews (alot faster than cpus at times) also in some case's they are highly needed if your doing a lot of dynamics (soft bodys/ object interaction). but as for the final product the cpu is whats doing the work. in order for the company's to make you want to buy the cards mostly everything from wireframe to dynamics calculation is turnned off. so and mostly left up to the cpu this is a why a Ati 2600xt >(FireGL v3600) will outdue a 8800gt in maya or 3ds max.
