tkos Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 So please expand upon your situation. As in what all you have tried and so on.............
mantis1230 Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 I tried upping the FSB of the RAM to no aveil, probably because I'm a newbie and don't know what I'm doing. If I change the multiplier from auto (12.5) to 13 the computer won't post and I have to reset the CMOS.
Overclocker16 Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 You have to unlock the proc to up the multiplyer. Up the FSB to like 170 (stock is 166 I believe, 166.66x2=333MHz FSB.) See if that boots.

TypicalSloan Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 (edited) i had that board and can say i wasnt too impressed with it others will disagree but the majority have mixed feelings. Have u tried updating the bios? U cant start overclocking till u get the oc bios from soyo. Also u might have to unlock the processor. Hooded Rat ]|[RP]|[ Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 (edited) I've got this processor and it's running totally stable at 2315mhz @ 10.5x220 c/w 441 FSB!!! It is 40c idle and 48c under load with a Thermaltake Silent Boost HSF c/w solid copper HS. The fan runs at 2400RPM (constant) at 21dBa (the system is virtually silent). I run it on a A7N8x Deluxe Mobo with 2 512 sticks of Twin3200 Corsair RAM. I couldn't be happier with the results.........the combination is staggering with AMD on Aircooling. Buy crap you get crap spend the extra and reap the rewards........and a good warranty Hooded Rat ]|[RP]|[ alias BONECRACKER Edited December 9, 2003 by Hooded Rat ]|[RP]|[

machstem Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 I'm a total newb at oc'ing processors. (just video cards). Now that amd is so cheap im on board. I'm trying to overclock my Barton 2800. I have done much research into this and I believe I have the unlocked version. My stock value is set at 2.079 mhz. This I have read is the 400 mhz fsb version of the barton core. First off here is my complete rig. Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0 (the 400fsb version) with bios update #20- most recent. Athlon xp 2800+ Barton core. 512MB Kingston HyperX DDR 400. Ati 9600 Pro 128Mb at stock values for now. Maxtor 20 Gig Hd. 250 Watt Atx power supply (Possible problem?). = Low? No PCI cards needed on NF7-S. Ok I shot the fsb value to 200 from 166 and lowered the multiplier from 12.5 to 10 to be safe. I have read everywehere that 11 is safe with stock voltages and heatsink. I didn't adjust the vcore or ram voltages because of so many postings listing stock as nominal for the fsb increase to 200. Here is where it got scary. My machine did not make it into windows xp (sp1 Pro). It didn't reboot it made a high beep blending into a low tone with garbled display ouch! No go for me I guess. Any pro's out there lend me a hand please. [email protected]
