creager Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 i have a powercolor radeon 9000 128mb and i want to oc a little to see a performance increase but not enough to do any damage or having to mod the card. i looked it up on google and everyone is talking about the pro version but they say the pro can oc 10% since its rated mhz is 300. will powerstrip work, and a tutorial wouldnt be bad. thanks
Overclocker16 Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 Yes. PowerStrip will work. The only tutorial you need is go slow, then test it buy running 3d Mark or a real heavy graphics intensive game like BF1942 or UT2K3. -Moderator at Neb's Forums. Please sign up when your there. creager Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 (edited) ok thanks for atleast responding, what do you think are the maxes before ruining my card, and which number is which in the ???/???? ratio and which numbers should i increase? as you can tell first time overclocker :\ also how would a program like radeonator work and it says i have to use Hoger to keep the setting of the overclocking. EDIT: BAH! i tried overclocking in radeonator and i hit cancel to close radeonator since i was gonna do something else at the time and it crashed my pc(im always confused does that mean just rebooted improperly or kill some hardware?) but i went back in and increased the core and mem like 5 mhz each and thhan hit apply and ok and it crashed my pc. im using radeonator 2 on a radeon 9000 on windows xp. Overclocker16 Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 That sucks. Maybe there is a vid card BIOS out there for this card so it can be OC'd.
