razor Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 hey guys, looking at the DFI LanParty LT P35-T2R board as possible replacement for my not-so-well working 780i. was wondering if I can flash the DFI's BIOS w/USB stick or CD/DVD? I didnt see info on it on their site, nor have I been able to find info elsewhere...w/so many DFI experts here, I'm hoping someone knows. thanks p.s. - if this counts as a double post in combo w/my Q6600 thread in OC-ing, I'm sorry. EDIT - for clarity

kingdingeling Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Have you thought of the DFI Lanparty DK P35 T2RS? For price vs. performance, I think that'd be a better choice!
capthowdy575 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 if you like i would take that 780i off your hands
razor Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 thanks to both nrg + king for the info and suggestions. I did end up getting the DFI P35-T2R, mainly due to extra PCI/PCI-E slots that are/will be filled w/TV tuners, sound card, etc. I'm took a peek @ the BIOS, and I'm almost giddy w/anticipation to play around w/it - safely until I get my footing, then hopefully more in-depth for Forum Wars. capthowdy, you got PM if you havent already seen it. kingdingeling Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Which one did you get now? There's a couple of P35 T2R's afaik Do you have a link? The DFI boards definitely OC very nicely, however the BIOS is usually crazy

I got the DFI LT-P35-T2R - the one w/out the absurd "transpiper" assembly. the BIOS is certainly more advanced than anything I've played with to date, though it isnt as daunting as I'd thought it would be. those could also be famous last words... kingdingeling Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Try opening the memory tab If it's even more detailed than the Blood Iron memory options (which it should be ), then you'll be flabbergasted!

kingdingeling Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Ohh yea, I know! I left everything except for the four standard timings on auto lol. Not like the DFI nF4 SLI-DR Expert I had, where I changed EVERY memory subtiming there was, just to get by bloody G.Skill HZ's stable at DDR600... sadly, I had to stop short by just 6MHz or so, DDR588 was the maximum
