Rehit Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 after 6 days beating my head against the wall i finally have another 3870X2 on the way from New Egg. i was outside the 30 day window and needed an RMA from Sapphire. how did that work out? not to good... they do not reply to e-mails. neither RMA or tech support. the Sapphire forum was quite helpful the reply was these things take a while... their contact info is a Canadian phone number. the nice Chinese guy there gave me a Califonia number. the Chinese guy there gave me the run around and told me i needed to deal with New Egg. after i left a somewhat scathing review at New Egg... i received an e-mail from one of their customer reps. included was a phone number and his extension. the guy went out of his way to make sure i was happy. he refunded my out of date purchase, which allowed me to purchase a replacement. since the price had dropped $50 since i bought my 1st card i of course purchased a 1 year replacement warranty. the moral of all this... New Egg has great customer service, and Sapphire sucks... unless you are prepared to purchase an extended warranty from somebody that actually honors it... i would avoid Sapphire like HIV... jammin Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 That's a shame, especially considering the volume of ATI cards that Sapphire produces.

road-runner Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I guess I am going to have to carry my rig upstairs and put it in the air condition room or dunk the radiator in a bucket of dry ice and alcohol, I am also waiting on ATI's new drivers and hope for some gain there.... jammin Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Yeah, new drivers might be helpful. I tried the NVIDIA beta drivers, but my scores went down rather than up.

Ghetto cooling, ha, I will show you ghetto cooling when I get my rig upstairs in my air conditioned room and the radiator in a 5 gallon bucket of dry ice and some ducts from the A/C. I still have all my ducts up there from a few years ago....
road-runner Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 It is supposed to get down to 36f here tonight, I set up a table and a house fan outside my window to put my rig on. I am going run the cables in through window/screen. Hopefully I will be able to get a little more out of my rig for the wars....
