any way to remove thermal adhesive ?

is there any save way to remove a heatsink glued on with Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive without breaking anything ?

probably not, arctic says "There is a very good chance that any components you attach with Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive will stay attached forever." but i have heard of people put the component in the freezer for a while and then trying to remove it, but there is a good chance you might break whatever's under it.........

What is the heatsink attached to exactly.

 

if the component is somwwhat durable, putting it in the freezer for a while may very well work.

 

If not, submerging it in pure acetone (the kind you buy at a hardware store) for several days may do the trick.

Wow does that stuff lower temps a lot how come its glue?
There has to be some way to attach all those small ramsinks and smaller heatsinks, they aren't gonna put 30 holes in a video card for 15 clips to hold everything on...

It wouldn't be cost effective, so they make thermal adhesive that has all the pros of thermal compound and an adhesive and none of the cons...
