Hmmmm...

Thats cool, n00b question, do video cards even max out AGP? (some newer ones I'm sure do), what about all this 1x-4x-16xPCI-E crap?

I know a while back people were saying that 16x was overkill...

agp main limit is that its goes though the cpu every few cycles, im sure the cap of the bus is sure close to being hit. 16x is over kill because the fact you can run the a card in 8x and keep the same fps.

Andrew, PCI-e 1x is a new type of expansion slot, used such as PCI, same with PCI-e 4x (the shorter slot), but there are full-lenght PCI-e slots that only run 4x, such as the Intel 965P chipset for example :)

It is funny though, why are they STILL giving AGP a chance?

Hmmm, I just figured they were all the same size and just labeled or the ones closest to the CPU were 16x :D

Probably because they know people will by it, and if it gets good performance then why not?
