Kamikaze_Badger Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Tonight, Iowa kicks off the 2008 Caucus. Given that I havn't been invited to go bowling this time, I will be attending this one. I'll be standing for Ron Paul most likely. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Is dressing up in a white shirt and suit going overboard? What should I expect? And if you're wondering why I'm allowed to attend a caucus at 17, Iowa allows attendance if you'll be 18 by Election Day.

Kash Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Not surprising really, the man didn't campaign in Iowa. Expect much of the same in New Hampshire. But it IS gratifying to see him "lose" so badly
Kamikaze_Badger Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 The caucus here, Rudi got ONE vote out of 85. Romney got most of the support. Dr. Paul got 14/85, with Romney getting 28/85, and 19/85 for Huckabee. Sadly, we didn't have a very powerful speaker for Ron Paul... he worked for the ISP, and looked like an average computer geek. I got up and spoke in support of Paul, talking about his hopes for our economy... but it didn't help out much. Obama sounds like he may do well. I'm quite happy Billary didn't get the nomination. Obama will hopefully have more success later on, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the white house that much. But I did register tonight as an independant, and was quite appalled by some of the people there. I find I disagree with both parties more than I previously thought. Sadly I don't think Ron Paul will get the White House, but that doesn't mean I won't stop supporting him. I doubt Huckabee will get in, he's far too radical, and Hillary has a negative reputation behind her.
