Wife needs a new monitor, smaller desk, no room for old CRT, so I ma going to give her my Samsung 930b syncmaster 19" LCD that I have been very happy with and get a 22" for me....

I think it has come down to these 2 for me.....

The rebate on the samsung is helping there.....

SAMSUNG 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1(DC 3000:1) - Retail

$309, $269 after rebate

or the

LG L226WTY-BF Black 22" 2ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 3000:1 - Retail

$329

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824005097

Any thoughts on either of these 2?

The Rebate on the Samsung is looking good.....

Thoughts?

I recently bought the 226BW for the same price. The colors are much more vibrant than my 19" Acer. The increase in screen size and desktop real estate is HUGE! I say go for it.

Now all I have to do is send in that darn rebate...

Welp.... stopped in a Micro Center while out shopping with the family... was able to look at the Samsung...(they had it for $299, a pretty good price for in a store)

Picture looked great... nice setup... came home and ordered it... at the Store I would still have to pay tax, with Newegg it will end up being $30 cheaper and no tax and Free shipping....and I am not in that much of a hurry.....

Will report back when it is set up.....

Will I need to change any settings (besides general resolution settings) for a wide screen monitor?
