Andrewr05 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) I'm a big fan of boxsets. I've got four different choices: Choice #1 <--Seems to only be available in Europe, released PAL only? Choice #2 <--I definitely wouldn't mind this one, released PAL only? Choice #3 <--NTSC, regular boxset... Choice #4 <---- Also NTSC (from what I've gathered), Seems to be a special [safe Deposit Gift Box] version of the above Anyone know of any more out there? *it is a bit early I guess, the movie just came out the 11th, so more sets may arrive* Problem is... PAL vs. NTSC blah blah I wish companies would release the same versions of movies in all countries, I'm sure you non-Americans feel the same way about some stuff that we get over here... mimesis Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 You could buy the cheapest and pick up a Region Free DVD player. That way you can always buy the cheapest boxset no matter which region code was assigned to the DVD's There is also a website i saw refered before that you can use to get a code to unlock your dvd player so it's region free. http://www.dvdexploder.com/ Hope this helps. Andrewr05 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I don't really care about the cheapest one though, I want the one that "looks" the best (box wise) and has the most features... I've got an old Apex (walmart special) DVD player that is unlocked but its a POS, the drive is louder than hell and the image quality is quite bad... Pretty much me just ranting about boxset features...
94Camaro Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 The last two are the exact same thing, right down to the UPC. FYE just has some weird image of the box.

94Camaro Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I was researching the boxset three weeks before Ultimatum came out in theaters. I'm obsessed with the movies. So, as far as I know, that is the only set coming out in the US, at least for the time being. So far there is no indication that there will be a different one. Some places just latch onto the fact that the box is designed like a safe deposit box as a selling point.
Crow47 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I've loved the Bourne movies. I might have to check this out.

Andrewr05 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) Another box set rant... It apperas as though the only NTSC Die Hard Quadrilogy is on Blu-Ray, Europe has a nice boxset but we are forced to upgrade to newer hardware just to appreciate these movies? Obviously I could buy them all separately on DVD but should NTSC users not have a choice? read :angry2: another side note/ Check out this site Holy mother of god some of the region 2 and 3 box sets are amazing, we definitely get the crap end of the stick when it comes to box designs/extras... Region-free dvd player here I come. Edited December 16, 2007 by Andrewr05
