squealing motherboard?

Oc'd q6600(SLACR), things are stable at 3.2~, 1.36~ vcore(1.31 with vdroop), OCCT stable(30 Min), but when I use OCCT I get a high pitched, barely audible whine, or maybe a squeal?! Is that from overvolting the board? I've heard about whining mosfets, is that what this is?

Board voltages are:

fsb 1.4

spp 1.40

mcp 1.5

spp<->mcp 1.4

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and it only happens with OCCT, not orthos, or superpi on 4 instances, not during gaming.. I dunno.

My old nForce 2 and my nForce 4 Ultra squealed when heavily loaded and overclocked. My old X850XT did the same thing when loaded down (even at stock speeds).

I never worried about it.

My other topic

Normal with the 680i reference boards.

So, it's nothing for me to worry about? Just keep on oc'ing?

I don't think mosfets can whine as they are semiconductors. Inductors make the whining sound, and it's almost always inductive coils of copper wire.

Good point. Like I said I just saw it in another forum and was trying to isolate to problem. Inductor whine seems to be the most logical solution, thanks.
