snakieee Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 (edited) I've said this for a long time but I've benn wanting to build a rig. Its not going to be a high end one but it will do what i want it to do and play what i want it to play... So what is the difference between the two... E4400 is 2.0 ghz and the E4500 is 2.2ghz and they are the same price it seems... whats the catch? Thank you, Jake Edited October 28, 2007 by snakieee
innocent42 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I think it's just a pricing anomaly. I remember that after the E6x50 chips came out, the 6550 and 6750 were both $200. Now the 6750 has fallen to around $190, and the 6550 down to $150, which makes a bit more sense. If you wait a month or so, the 4400 will fall in price. The 4500 will too, but not by nearly as much, so if you want the 4500, you could get it now without getting burned.
fire_storm Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 There pretty much the same but the E4500 is 200mhz faster then the E4400 and the E4500 supports Virtualization Technology support and the E4400 doesn't.
firestations Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I think what fire_storm said is quite good , E4500 seems better .
:[[Deeto]]: Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 If u're gonna use it for OC purposes I suggest u get that E4500... coz I've used that E4400 n it's really hard to get it running fast. My recommendation is actually E4300 if there's still any though...

CanadaGUY Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Both are pretty solid chips, if you get the non-power hungry ones
