Quick fan question.

Recommended Posts

Alright I'm looking for the highest possible CFM's on a 80mm and a 120mm fan. I've checked all around newegg, for 80mm seams like 70CFM is the best I'm going to find. But is there any higher? Same for 120mm are there higher than the ones I can find on newegg?

Lol well I'll have to pick up some of these fans.

(I'm doing a little test with them, Ill filling my case (10 fans) with all vantec tornado fans. And my heatsink with the Delta fan. I want to see how loud it can get lol! And see the temps... can't wait. obviosly I wont be leaving them in lol)

Why are you limiting the size to 80mm and 120mm? Why not some 92mm fans such as the 92mm Tornado? I own two 92mm Tornado's and it's like a vacuum cleaner running with just one of them running and they move a ton of air. Happy Modding to ya.

Sounds like an interesting little project. I have a feeling your compy will be louder than some cars, but hey, take pics, or a video of it hovering, maybe even record the sound too, if nothing else it will be entertaining and maybe educational.

I have a couple tornadoes (I don't use them any more) and even at 5 volts they are annoyingly loud. It's not so much that they are loud, it's that the tone they take on is obnoxious. I prefer the sound of larger fans even if they are technically louder just because of the non-whiny tone.

  • 1 month later...

just a thought, but centrifical fans, or blowers usually move an incrediable amount of air, im not sure about noise tho.

As far as use, if your going to have one exaust fan or maby evean two, u might want a custom DC blower. Tho this would take quite a bit of modding...

ok, had to throw my 2 cents in...
