Waco Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Till they let me break the cars I'm done with the GT series. I love them to death...but being able to nail a wall a 200 mph and then keep driving like nothing happened really takes the fun out of it these days. virus Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) its been said that race cars will have damage, just not the street cars. and its not GT fault, its the car companys that dont want people playing the game crashing the cars. Fireonice Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Then explain Forza 2? I think the damage is somewhat relisitic. You can lose your bumpers and get plenty of damage.
Waco Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 and its not GT fault, its the car companys that dont want people playing the game crashing the cars. That's not true. Forza 2 beats the hell out of all the cars in it.
g1ng3r Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 That's not true. Forza 2 beats the hell out of all the cars in it. I also saw that it was because manufactures said that the game displays the cars realistically and that they didn't want damage to effect peoples thoughts on the cars. But it's more likely to be because GT5 will have a large number of cars (im guessing that GT5 has the same amount or more than the 700 in GT4). Think how long it would take to model over 700 cars and model each panels damage. It would take forever. Also, trying to display cars 16 cars on one track at 1080p @ 60fps with GT5 graphics and full model damage on any of the next gen consoles would be impossible, unless the damage was only paint based. I guess they could make damage enabled on certain racers, say only on some of the tougher professional-500hp + racers, then all the cars with less than 500hp wouldn't have to be modeled with damage. Then by the time they make GT6 on the PS4, they should by then have modeled the damage on all the cars lol

When 400+ of them are variations on the other models of the cars it wouldn't take as long as you'd think.
