Guest FreakyDrOverclock Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 as far as i know, both processors must be exactly the same!!! so if you want those to work together, you'll have to run both @ 1.13ghz
moparman Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 thanks for the advice, i read in an article of pc magazine awhile ago that you dont have to have the speeds the same, as for it running rough, what do u mean?
moparman Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 OK i went to price watch, and i found a bunch of dual mobos, but alot said that they were for the Athlon MP, i have a Thunderbird, what is the difference and will a dual MP still work for me?? thanks a bunch! bass_freak Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 think of the MP as the xp for dual, samething just unlocked and made to run with anothter, and only with another(Multiple Procer = MP). I don't think you can run a t-bird/duron on those boards, but i could be mistaken...by ruff i mean they can be hard to find and $$$ will be an issue. Guest FreakyDrOverclock Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 an athlon mp is nothing else than an athlon xp "jumpered" differently. i found an howto somewhere some time ago...this lets you change a xp to an mp with a pencil-trick
Verme Posted March 19, 2002 Posted March 19, 2002 You just need to connect the L5 bridge (far one from the word 'L5') with your defogger kit, or conductive gooo.. whatever, and this will enable XP's to be recognized as MP's on AMD760 chipsets.. or 761... whatever it is. It will NOT work unless they are the exact same CPU...i had that same question a while back! LOL
