hardnrg Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Only super glue was mentioned. I actually specifically pointed out that superglue is a cyanoacrylate-based adhesive... which is what krazy glue is... you have Scotch tape, we have Sellotape, you say tomato, i say um... gimme a beer or something lol
LivingGhost Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 lol, ok. Well, I guess some crazy glue and AS5 will be going on my ram sinks if xoxide ever sends me the correct HSI heatsink... Should I remove the current thermal adhesive on the ramsink?
cchalogamer Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Yes, but not a lot. You do not want to inhibit the AS5 or w/e you are using. Just a tiny bit on the corners is fine. Truer words can not be spoken, I think i may have had a little bit much on the old 7900gt: Don't let that worry you however, as with a small amt you get a staisfying pop of glue breaking loose rather than a ram chip hehe. Seriously, this was MY fault, not using glue (hell adhesive would have likely caused me MORE damage by better sticking to the other ram chips) So, anyone want a 224mb 7900gt? (jk I dont have it anymore)

Should I remove the current thermal adhesive on the ramsink? If it's already got the adhesive on it, I'd just use that. Unless someone specifically knows how well it will perform compared to AS5... Bleeble Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 They're falling off. :| Falling off with the adhesive on it? Then I'd suggest AS5 with the super glue method. Just make sure you use it very sparingly.
Overclocker16 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 They're falling off. :| That happened on my x1900xt when I had the original ones that came with my swiftech stuff. A couple actually landed on my soundcard (lucky nothing shorted).
