Capitalizt Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 (edited) I have an e6600 and Asus P5B. Raised the FSB to 333 so the comp would run at 3ghz. When I load up CPU-Z, it only shows a multiplier of 6X (1.99ghz)..but when I run a stress test, it jumps up to the proper 9X multiplier (2.997ghz) . I noticed the voltage also seems to change..?? Here are some pics...first one idle, second one stressed with Orthos. Do all Core 2's normally drop down to a lower multiplier like this when the power isn't needed? Or do I have a defective chip? Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Edited July 12, 2007 by Capitalizt

Agree there, just edit the setting in bios and it will stop this from happening, thou i person leave it enabled, as its keeps the temp down when your not used full cpu. And only a slight delay on demand when you need to load the cpu. Long list of things to do when OCIng a C2D.1. Disable
