If the choice is metal dust or metal sludge I'll take me chances with the dust, Hence the taping part of the project. Plus if you blow it off after each round you will be fine. I was going to use the platic protector thingy that came on it in the box and put maksing tape over the edges like you did anyway. I'll used some compressed air after each round.
