Zerox12 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 So it seems as if my OCZ memory is bad (I ran a few memory tests and even at stock timings and the fact that it's not even running at stock speed because of my odd CPU multiplier), so I need to replace it and want to make sure I get the best RAM for my price range. Here are the current specs, and I do want to overclock it. MSI K9N SLI Platinum Rev 1.0 Bios 1.7 Athlon 64 X2 4200+ eVGA 7900 GT KO 256 MB (560/860) Audigy SE Looking at tigerdirect and newegg, I saw some modules that had my interest, but am unsure if these would be good choices. Note that I'd like to not spend over $150. The following have my interest but am unsure if these are actually good or not. Not to mention I'm now unsure of OCZ's quality since mine seems to be bad. Also, would it make more sense to get 667 MHz or 800 MHz RAM for this system? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...mp;Sku=C19-4332 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p;Sku=O261-8070 Some help would greatly be appreciated. kendellrt Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 This is a killer deal - SLI/EPP supported with heatpipes and running at 1T: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227231 This RAM is the hottest stuff going around right now it seems. High quality chips and great overclockers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231065 Prices are good right now, so get 'em while they're hot! Zerox12 Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Thanks for the help. I went with the G.Skill since it got great reviews and seems to be the best for OCing. Hopefully OCing my CPU this time around will go much smoother (I have water cooling and would actually like to put it to good use). Stupid integrated memory controller making this more difficult... kingdingeling Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 If you haven't ordered yet, I'd switch that for those Crucial Ballistix @ tigerdirect.com, those have the same chips as the G.Skills but are a lot cheaper! Those Reapers look nice @ chavalcito, but I'm not sure I'd spend that much more just for 1T, my rig is fast enough running at 2T.
