not what I expected

Recommended Posts

heres what I got so far with my e6600 and evga a1. I got a better o/c on my other e6600 and p5wdh.

I will try to push it more but so far not much luck since It wont post untill the board kicks in to default value (which already is making me save tons of time instead of having to do a cmos reset heh). Pushing 1.4vcore with a Tuniq cooler too and 2.1vdimm on the mushkins.

1.3v I think. I'll see if I post all details, first thing is first, getting back all my itunes purchases and reinstalling loads of games and apps I neglected to backup... and then a 24 hour orthos.

The Mushkins really need 2.3 to perform at their best. Make sure you actively cool them to. What stepping is your new 6600? someof them have really stunk lately. I got lucky on a L629f that runs 3.5 at 1.45v. To bad the wife doesn't want to swap cpu's. My first one was anL626b that does 3.6 at 1.525v.

Tuniq Tower and 1.4V's for the big 3?! that's one sucky OCer! What do your FSB and chipset voltages look like?

You think thats bad?

I was at:

Vcore 1.5V

Clock 3.303 Ghz

And it still wasn't completly stable.

I'll try to mess around with it and even try 1.55vcore, if nothing improves then I will just give up and let it be or RMA it perhaps.

I know, this is driving my crazy as well.

StressCPU2 will not report any errors, will run fine. But randomly will SMP Folding report that it can no longer continue.

Everything else is stable, I can do ANYTHING, but sometimes SMP Folding will not.

Sometimes SMP Folding will run fine through 2 WU's and then 7 percent in to the Next WU it will say it can't continue...

Ive tried so many variations of settings.. Bah..

What I will do when i get home from work is run a big ram divider and keep the ram @ 800mhz instead of 1066-ish and work my way around there. Anyone can tell me what are some safe volts to pump through all the options (besides vcore and vdimm) for a 680i board? such as fsb and southbridges?

Well here is a 1mb superpi run @ 3.5ghz, I am working on a 32mb run now.

1.5vcore

1.40V SPP

MCP Auto

SPP <--> MCP Auto

1.5V FSB

Edit: here is the 32 superpi run. Super Pi and Super PIE ftw :lol:

The fsb voltage has the biggest effect on stability and higher clock speeds.

CPU core==Whatever it needs and you are comfortable with.

CPU FSB== 1.5 to 1.55

Memory 2.3 to 2.4 above 533

Nforce SPP==1.4 is fine

Thanks :) I guess 3.5ghz isnt too bad, I need time to do a full 24hour Orthos regardless.
