whats the difference?

Recommended Posts

these two 680i evga board. the A1 and the T1 (the t1 being cheaper). I searched evga's site and newegg'ed it and they seem to be the same exact thing except for price.

Well I just checked out the manual for one of the boards. link(Online PDF) and it's a good 170 pages long so I'd say it's pretty detailed. Just quickly running through it I saw that they labeled all the power connections(pin numbers, grounds, etc). It is without a doubt one of the best product manuals I've seen. It covers pretty much EVERYTHING from hardware installation to bios tweaking. It's about as detailed as it gets, I'd say.

or it's in 7 different languages ;)

170 pages of multilingual, informative goodness. It's good to see a company care about it's customers from all corners of the globe. But still, it's a very, very detailed manual.

Edit: As for one coming with the board. You're shelling out 230ish bucks so I'd assume that they'd throw it in. It would be pretty cheap on their part not to do so. Really the only thing you'd need to know about the during installation would be all the jumpers and connections. Check those out, write them down then install and look up as you need it.

Edit: Checked on newegg and the A1 version comes with the manual. The T1 sadly does not.

If i remember right the A1 vs T1 is the newer revision of the board. The revision takes care of severe instability issues and includes the removal of a resistor to even out some voltages i believe. If you have a choice the T1 version is the one you would want.

I got curious about it after you said it and it turns out that it's just one language! :O 170 pages of English instructions and information!

@ccokeman: I did some digging on google for those two boards and I couldn't find anything about them being different revisions or anything like that. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the bundle.

well, i have narrowed down my choice to these three motherboads.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131025 asus p5wdh deluxe I already have one and am happy with it (o/c wise and packaging) but not really looking in to owning two of the same things.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813130080 msi p6n, the x-fi onboard is a real plus and the 4x pci-e slots look interesting but may not be worth it.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813188013 and then the evga a1 board, seems to be pretty good especially compared to the msi board.

Out of the three I am putting the evga a1 most likely to buy, then the asus p5wdh, and then the msi board. Either way I know i will not be disappointed with the asus board (975x ftw :P ) but I know the 680i is better. So win-win for me.
