Ok i got everything installed that i need for now. I got xp pro loaded onto my harddrive. was running master/slave(hd/cdrw) it would reboot after 4-5 min. after the reboots i would get a fatal error message stating jibberish and minidump. and now it locks up when ever i run a program.

cpu overheating?

wiring issue?

xp issue?

master/slave issue?

i tried but everything i do it just locks up. i get to the bios just fine then i got the service agreement , i accept of course then it freezes searching for previous versions. i pulled my old harddrives off this computer and put them in my new setup and it still didnt work, but it did freeze, it would actually restart (after a quick blue screen?)

Im really starting to get pissed.

i also get a screen that says

sorry ...junk junk junk

safe mode

safe mode networking

safe mode ...

start windows from last working configuration

start windows anyway

they all freeze,.....its almost like my ps is losing power

i might be trying that soon\

i also might download a new mobo driver(56k :( on this computer)

a couple of weeks ago i tried pushing my system a little further and when windows restarted it crashed, then when it cam back up it told me a emergency registry file had to be loaded and my computer wouldnt boot up after that. I dont know what caused it but it happened. So i counted my losses, chalked it up to experience and reinstalled windows.... and like my sig says.... When in doubt....Reinstall Windows!!!!

well i finally got windows back up today. i think it had to do with my memory installation

i put memory in A1 and A2 slots but should have been A1 and B1 slots, i think thats what caused my memory dumps.

But my system will just reboot will its sitting in windows (overheat protection?) ive noticed in the bios that my temp gradually increases .5 -1oC ive seen 50oC (just in the bios) whats the name of a program i can download to monitor my temps in windows?

guess im gonna go buy "another" heatsink. makes #3
