andrusk Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 kick up performance, a little vague question, however, if you defragment your hard drive that should improve its performance.
sykocus Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 someone posted a utility to disable the sound damping of the HD firmware to increase performace...try looking on the seagate webpage, or someone might post it again.
Overclocker16 Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 Get rid of things you don't need. Clear internet cache and whatnot and then defrag. Clean up little files you don't use. Just clean it up is really all you need to do.
General912 Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 Yah defrag will help.

Propane Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 twice a day? you only need to do that if you write a bunch of files to the hard disk in that amount of time - thats overkill man
Judas Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 You can also use some defrag-software like the one in Norton Systemworks, called SpeedDisk. It defrags by looking which files are 'frequently accessed' and 'infrequently accessed', also 'frequently modified' and 'infr.......' Looks to me that it runs faster than with the Windows defrag. General912 Posted April 8, 2003 Posted April 8, 2003 Hehe i dont even defrage once a day it really not cruical to do it but it dose help. System works is good too. you could try switching over to SCSI alot fast transfer rates.
Mister_Webmaster Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 that or SATA. I use Speed Disk's schedule and I scheduled it to run at night when I'm asleep. It keeps both of my HDD at nearly 100% optomisation
