r_target Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I'm running the rig plus two big CRT's, Logitech Z640, and an adapter for a USB hub. Load is at about 80%, with the UPS monitor software giving me warnings about the level. Is 80% long-term load anything to worry about? I can always unplug the second monitor (Viewsonic GS790) and just run it from a surge protector if I have to. Load is about 60% with the Viewsonic turned off (I know, what a power-hog). Oh yeah.....UPS is a Belkin F6C900-UNV (900VA).
bigdaddy25fb Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I'd get a bigger UPS. The CRT's suck quite a bit of juice. I'd only have my rig on UPS and have it set to save and shutdown during power failure.
bigred Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 get the CRT's off the battery side of it. they should only be on the surge protection side. otherwise that battery backup is useless. just with my main rig though, a 2000va sits at about a 70% load. most rigs I've got on 1500's and up don't even go over 30%
