rh535 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I just got a Intel C2D 6400 and when i first installed it the temp was starting at 55*C and going up. I turned it off and removed the hsf and removed the stock thermal paste I then put on Artic Silver 5 (first time ever doing this) and my temps seemed to stay the same. My rpm speed was 902. Should it be higher? And what about my cpu temp? All this with stock cpu fan.
Silverfox Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 the fan will be slow as hell until you put the processor under load. its the smart-fan-setting thing that i always forget the name of.
kendellrt Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Look and see if your mobo supports turning of the dynamic fan control. I turned mine off and it dropped my stock temps about 10c.
