thermaltake radiator

Recommended Posts

i just saw the review for the thermaltake armor lcs case, and i was wondering if anybody knew, if by chance the bigwater 735/745 dual radiator would fit in the front of the regular thermaltake armor? it would be nice to be able to expand my current setup with that, have three rad's. then i could maybe add a gpu waterblock too.

I really wouldn't be going with a bigwater setup if you plan on upgrading you graphics card to an 8 series or x2 series. A water setup from thermaltake is something I would really use for any form of overclocking or even gaming. Three rads is going to be a lot of resistance for that small pump, plus your blocks and anything else you have in the loop.

i wasnt planning on sticking with the dinky little one from the SE, thats like 120l/hour, id get a different one, the one that comes with the 745 if like 500 l/hour with more than 6ft of head like the SE's. with the dual rad inside, its a pretty small loop and i dont really need the gpu water cooled as its stayed pretty cool as it is.

so far ive hit like 45-46C load with the bigwater, i dont see why everyone knocks it so bad

i have plenty of room in the case, and moving the HDDs around to the top would let me move a lot of the heat away from the mobo and chipset

another thing i noticed, is that the tmg2 radiator says it has two connections one for 1/4 tubing and one for 3/8th tubing, but current rad i have does that too, but i dont see how it fits two different sizes, unless they are really close to eachother

that's because those temps are HORRIBLE for a 3500+ @ 1.4v on water... i got my 3500+ to 2.92 GHz at 1.568v at 41-43

well, my temps were better when it was external, but i move this around a lot (pain in the butt cause its so heavy) so the tubing sticking out was a bit cumbersome. now that its internal, its warm air being pushed over the rad so thats not helping. the side of the apartment complex i live in, is always hot, like this winter, we didnt even have to turn on the heat, right now ambient is like 28c and the cpu is idling around 34

but as far as i can tell, it doesnt look like the tmg2 comes with that bracket but i havnt gotten around to measuring yet. i dont know if im going to be able to mount in any proper way.

might have to wedge it in there with anti vibration padding heh

No kidding, I've used the bigwater only on silent builds for customers, and even then it was because they couldn't afford a decent setup and insisted I use this great Thermaltake one. Thermalright and Tuniq's aircooling solutions blow this out of the water.

Well I agree with everyone else the thermaltake is no good. Main problem with adding another rad into your setup is that your losing even more pressure. The best way would be to get 1 really good rad and be done with it. The Thermochill PA120.2 is enough to cool a cpu and gpu. If you got the Thermo PA120.3 then ya....thats good. I would look at upgrading to one nice rad and dump all the others. Might also cut some of the weight down as well. The thermochills are much bigger then your normal rads though. But they are the best made right now nothing better as far as I know. Not sure but you would prob have to upgrade your tubing as well. you prob have the dinky stuff.

yeah, im looking at ditching the SE, although my budget isnt very big at all. the SE's pump is rated at 90 l/hour, and there isnt a lot of head there

what would you suggest for a cheap 3/8th pump and rad?
