Kamikaze_Badger Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Well I have the opportunity to buy a '92 Toyota Tercel for $900. 93k miles on it, two door one, in good condition. Should I take advantage of the opportunity? I've been told it gets great gas mileage, which I need more than power these days. Tirian-64 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I drove a tercel for a while, while i had my permit. i had to pay for gas at the time, and ill tell ya, it was a lifesaver. but the price seems a little too good to be true, i dont know about your lemon laws, but i would suggest getting it checked at a mechanic right away if you buy it. and last i heard, you oldsmobile wasnt holding up too well, so anything right now is a better investment, well, almost anything
Misuta_Yancha Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 yeah I have a friend buy a car for cheap and it turned out it had a cracked block so I agree with tirian and take it to a mechanic
levathan Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Have ur mechanic run a compression test or a leakdown test on it to check the engine. If it is a manual tranny give it some gas in first gear and make sure the clutch isnt slipping. I belive they have a 1.5L 5efe. Those cars can actualy be kinda zippy, so i hear. The cars price deperciates alot, so i can see it being that cheap Gl -dave
