I wasing thinking about getting a new heatsink for my rig (specs in the sig) i was thinking about a sythe ninja but also heard the Zalman ones where good. Still_Naive Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) I've read a few reviews that say the Ultra 120 is the current king, along with the Tuniq Tower 120. I can only confirm that the U120 does, in fact, kick *ss by keeping my 4300 at sub 30 idle, 45 load at a rock stable 3150 OC. It's definitely a freaking beast, and it was almost impossible to plug the 12v adapter in on the GA-965P-DS3 without taking the board out of the case, but I personally think it's worth it. It's also in the pricerange you've specified. I got it on FrozenCPU, but they appear to be sold out at the moment. akac Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 well guys after looking on newegg and almost everything being out of stock i went ahead and got a Thermalright SI-128 and some new fans for my case Scythe Minebea NMB Silent IC Series 4710KL-04W-B29-V52 120mm 76cfm @31 dBa (1 for HS and 2 for case) Scythe Minebea NMB Silent IC Series 3110KL-04W-B39-E51 80mm 32cfm @ 28 dBA (2 for case) they were the closest dba that i could find with good cfm and if i dont get good case flow out of that i have 10 ventec tornados from my old case i can slap into it, and if your wondering i had 5 on the side 4 on top and one in back and you could not hear anything when it was on but it was good airflow and it nerver overheated i am also returning my 8800gts and geting the 8800gtx newegg is waveing the restocking fee if i dont open the box also i know its in the wrong forum but while im here im getting windows xp for now but would it help if i get 2 more gigs of ram for 4 gigs while i have the money or wait till i switch to vista to get the extra ram. i plan on keeping this rig for another 2 to 3 years before upgrading agian, hell im still uesing the same 478 cpu that i got when they first came out, ive upgraded everything else around it. thanks for the help Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think you should get 2 gigs for know and when software needs 4 gigs get it then. Also 64-bit versons of xp (I think they are not going to make any new improvements in xp64 edition so I don't think its worth getting) and vista are a bit buggy and have some driver issues I wouldn't get a 64-bit verson of them for a while still. hardnrg Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 the Panaflo/NMB-MAT fans appear to be upside-down... almost always, you will get better cpu temps with the fan blowing down onto the sink, and if the cpu temps stay the same, the ram, pwm, chipset and most of your motherboard will benefit from this direction of airflow the one on the side panel, that should really be blowing into your case, drawing fresh air in over the graphics card the nintendo switches are awesome Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
