Dry Ice Run

Recommended Posts

I've been away for a while and I remember all the server problems you guys were having, and I believe my original post was lost. But just an update, I'm starting another run with some Tubes on the GPU and chilled water on the CPU's for this next run. I think my video I posted to youtube is still up of the last run I did, so I'll get that link back on here. It's nice to be back.

w00t, another one of the old members back in the game! I remember that DICE run with the 3000+ or whatever it was! Looking at your sig, you got one hell of a rig there, nice!

Can't wait for pics/vids of the run!!! :thumbs-up:

Yeah sorry guys. I've been hanging out at xtremesystems a bit lately to get a hang for all the 3D Mark tricks out there. I'll post up a worklog of the new tubes for the Dual board soon. I don't think we will see any super high clocks on this motherboard but the GPU is where I'm concerned. I'm hoping for 2.8ghz and some nasty high clocks on the GTX. Yeah that 3000+ was a little beast. The video is still up on youtube. It's good to be back, right now though, I'm still getting things in order and making sure everything is a go. Still wish I could find a good solid supplier of LN2 who won't back out on me at the last moment like the last one I found (**** you BOC gases). Whats wrong with letting me borrow one of your dewars? :P Thanks for the welcome back as well. Always nice to know that you were missed!

PS. After I'm done with this rig its getting back to folding for the team. I've also got a PentD 945 that'll be joining soon as well.

Update: Well here is the link to the initial run with the 3000+

. I've got some time on my hands this week, so I'll be getting ahold of some copper soon for the GFX tube and second CPU tube. Gotta love DIY. Below are some pictures of my board and CPU's. My graphics card had random issues with artifacts at stock so I RMA'd it back. Hopefully it gets here by next week. If not I'll see what I can do about max clocks on the chips. Hope everyone enjoys!

nice video and setup :)

is 3.1 as far as you could get it?

It was at 3.4 but that was not stable at all!

Tube designs and drawings are on the way. It's going to be another brazed setup with a possibility of a CNC milled backplate for the graphics and maybe the CPU's. I've been talking to chilly1 about tube designs and I'll have to send you guys the ones we've been chatting about. Designing the tube for the video card is probably going to be the most challenging, I may end up using one of k|ngp|n's designs (see his Tek tubes) but they are rectangle shaped so it may be an issue acquiring that. If you guys have any designs or ideas shoot them this way, I am more than welcome to new ideas and thoughts.

This may sound a little nuts but copper is pretty malleable you can just beat it square with a hammer and a steel bar as a backplate to help shape it....I've done it before B:)
