im planning on gettin a new mobo/proc. im wondering if my current RAID 0 set up will work with the new mobo and proc. ( i have 2x160gb Maxtors, on a asrock k8nf4g w/ a 3700+, and plan on upgrading to:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2851762&CatId=1619) any help would be appreciated!

Not unless it has absolutely identical RAID controller chips on both boards and still you run the risk of it not recognizing the existing array.

Best bet - back up your current RAID 0 array before migrating.

I just went through this process.

What raid chipset is the existing Raid-0 on?

If you are changing raid controllers (say going from a SiI to Nvidia Raid), don't expect much to work. I did this exact thing, set them up as a RAID-0 in the software (not controller bios) and was able to see the drives and ran a testdisk on them. All the files on there were "corrupted" if I tried to extract them through the Nvidia troncoller.. Luckily I had another running PC running with the same MOBO. Stuck the 2 drives on the SiI controller there, setup the RAID in windows, copied the files I needed back over the network to the rebuilt PC.

If you are going Nvidia to Nvidia, it works fine. My other two drives that were originally on an Nvidia were fine when I switched them over.

I went from an nForce 3 to a nForce 570 SLI ...

Cheers and Good Luck!

$300?!

why not just get a conroe rig? a conroe hardly has to oc at all to outpace even an oc'd fx-60

it's because i dont want to switch ram, and i really dont want to spend 300, more like 240, prolly on a 4400+ or maybe a 4800+ any suggestions are appreciated
