Hailstorm Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Ok, the question is. What is the max voltage and max temp for the Pent D 2.8. Basically its from the Intel deal last year. I have a ASUS P5LD2 deluxe Mobo. I am looking to crank this thing up now and just want to remain safe. Its been a while since I wanted to do this. but, I guess getting free from a divorce will that :thumbs-up:

Hailstorm Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 How do I found out it? 8XX or 9XX. I no longer have the box.

sYstEmATiC Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hope this can be seen. here ya go...its an 820 1.25 volts Pentium D 820 Frequency 2.80 GHz Package 775-pin PLGA Vcore 1.25V-1.4V Bus frequency 800 MHz Typical heat dissipation 95W Core stepping A0 Max. typical case temperature 69.
kingdingeling Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 so basically, as long as you keep your temps within reason, you can OC her till she bleeds 3.5 should be an easy goal!
romeo55 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 when OCing, about 1.5v on that chip is the max for most people on air. I doubt you'll reach that voltage anyways as the temps skyrocket exponentially after just increasing it by less than .05v
Hailstorm Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 (edited) Whats max temp? 70c? Thanks guys for the help by the way Edited January 20, 2007 by Hailstorm
romeo55 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Whats max temp? 70c? Thanks guys for the help by the way 70c, once you hit that, it'll shutdown automatically, and you WILL be hitting that temp, hehe, I hit that barrier with a single core 3.4e with a huge HS

Hailstorm Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Well, here is a update. I keep locking up. I lock up in Steam. When I started to press the CPU it either locks up as I enter a server or it locks up during map change. The bad thing is STEAM has been having issues with map changes anyhow. I did take the voltage up to 1.4 with the low over clock I tried. I also have had the PC shut down on me. Screen go black and I can here the fans running. But nothign else. I think I will start to run some diagnostics on it. I have a feeling my cheap RAM is the issue. To me its the cheapest thing I have in the box. So, I assume its the weakest link. I will update my sig as well. Any thoughts?
